In Part 1 of 'Crossing the Rubicon' last month, we started by discussing all the times we have 'passed the point of no return' in life, or in business - sometimes bravely, deliberately, with eyes wide open; sometimes without even realising we have just taken that fateful step towards a changed future.
As someone who has left well paid jobs on 3 separate occasions to discover what else is out there - twice with the financial safety net of voluntary redundancy, once without even that - I relish the excitement of not knowing quite where I will be or what I will be doing from one year to the next.
That may seem strange from a coach - we're all about pursuing clear goals right??
Perhaps - but sometimes we just don't have enough information to articulate anything clearer than, 'I want/need something different to what I have right now' but we know there is something better out there & are willing to 'cross the Rubicon' to find it.
I have no regrets - each adventure led to new opportunities, new friends, new experiences that I would not have otherwise have encountered & life is richer for it!
When was the last time you 'crossed the Rubicon' & how was it for you???
If you would like to explore those questions more with a small group of imaginative thinkers, why not join us for Part II of 'Crossing the Rubicon! What modern leaders can learn from the fateful decision making of Rome's most famous son.'
You'll be in good company!!
